This was the cutest Yellow Goldfinch. Here he was posing after doing a thorough cleaning of himself both in the tree and in the stream pictured here.
I hate that the green leaves are in the shot, but there was a lot of brush between the stream and the bank where I was standing. He was very fun to watch.
I had a great time at Photography Club with MaryBeth @espyetta today!
Oh wow! I got an almost "I- (hand clap)- dentical" shot of this! Seems like same angle, but I know were not standing in exact same place. Not sure what I am using yet today....Stopped on way home to gro. shop, cleaned kitchen, then made dinner and ate. So now I am back to going through my pics. I will post soon. I love yellow and I love yellow birds! So bright and cheerful!
@spair Hey Susan, we call it photography club but its just me and my friend MaryBeth and also I've called it PC with my friend Laura @ljm. So, nothing official, just a nickname when we get together. With that said, Katy @grammyn is planning a road trip this summer, I think, so well let you know and you can join us!
@tara11 LOL! could be! Tara I want to post a shot of procreating frogs but am concerned about the title I want to use and the shot because of Ryan! How often does he check 365?
@grammyn Hi Katy! He mainly checks his own shots. I really appreciate you being concerned, but I don't want you to change because Ryan is following you. It will probably go over his head anyway. But, just the same, he knows how babies are made :)
@tara11 I really appreciate that Tara! I know this is a family site but every now and then I find something that is a little less than family oriented and I don't want to offend someone!
@grammyn Don't change a thing and really please do not worry about it. If you or someone posts something that needs discussing, it's all good. I've never seen anything posted from the people that I follow that I would be upset if Ryan saw. And, if you'd rather him not follow you, that is fine too. I don't want you to feel like you have to censor yourself :)
I just commented on MaryBeth's shot. As I said to her, our goldfinches are almost the same but have superhero masks and little rusty brown bikini tops :o) Beautiful shot of this little guy xx
@grammyn I know! Crazy thing. We aren't that far away from each other at all. I would love to meet somewhere and do a little shooting. If you are on Facebook. You can find me under Susan Pair.
Handsome little fellow- I love Goldfinches- they are one of my favorite feeder birds. You probably could have cloned out those leaves. It would take some time and patience, but since it doesn't affect his body, it could be done.
@olivetreeann Ahh, good point. I'm not good with patience in that area. I've on,y tried it once and got a little frustrated. I'm sure with more practice and some studying up on it, I could do it. Thanks Ann - I put a feeder up just for finches but so far not takers :(
@olivetreeann The only time I saw them was at the suet feeder but a raccoon or something actually drug that off, twice! So don't have that one up anymore. I saw a group of them on the ground but they haven't come to my regular feeder. I put another suet feeder and finch feeder up on the side of my house but for some reason those aren't frequented as much.
And he is a cute little bird! :)
