I haven't written about this yet, but 1 month ago, on March 6th, my dad had a stroke. It has been a whirlwind ever since. Seriously, moment by moment, things can change. He is currently in a rehab facility and his prognosis is unclear. He is making small improvements every day, which is praiseworthy!
I find it a little ironic that I've been able to post more pictures during a time when I really have no time. I think that it's a getaway, release maybe of the stress.
A friend shared this verse with me and along with Lamentations 3:22-23, I am hanging on to Jesus and God's promises and giving my burdens over daily. Otherwise, I would break.
Your prayers for his recovery would be appreciated and if you'd like to follow the journey, please feel free to visit Dad's CaringBridge site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/wardcarpenter
Thank you my friends for all of your amazing comments and favs on my recent shots. I'm commenting when I can and trying to reciprocate your kindness. I'm so thankful that I can be absent for a while and come back and you all are right there ready to encourage. I'm very thankful for this wonderful community.
Beautiful little yellow curls and twirls inside an "ugly weed." Kind of the way life is, isn't it? I know how stressful it has been with your dad. I'm thinking of you all the time. Will need to get together and have our picnic and take pictures!
This is such a fantastic photo — and Scriptural reference — to accompany such a significant and personal story. Know that many are thinking about you and your dad and praying for you. Sometimes it's astonishing what we can endure, but of course “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). Peace, Tara—
We love you Tara and of course will be here for you. Let go and let God because He knows what is best for you and your dad. I am sure you are familiar with the Footprints in the Sand poem and if you look back right now i'll bet there is only one set of prints. This verse illustrates that very well. Praying for your dad's full recovery if that is God's will.
@grammyn Thank you Katy! Oh yes, He has definitely been carrying me. I have learned to rely on Him moment by moment because things can change that fast. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
The camera can be a wonderful stress reliever in times like this. Know that we are all praying for you and your father and for strength for both of you. Love your shot - the dof is perfect for it - and it sets off your scripture verse quite well.
I hope your Dad makes a full recovery. The faster he gets seen after having the stroke the better the likelihood he'll get back to his old self. It sounds like he's in the best place. I think this dandelion capture is really beautiful xx
