I ache! I've just come home from doing an extra shift at work doing a job that I don't normally do. I've discovered muscles I didn't know I had. A nice hot shower has helped and a sleep in tomorrow morning will hopefully fix things. On the drive home I noticed that the sky was cloudless, no wind or rain and that the stars were shining brightly so I stepped out the back door and grabbed this shot. The most amazing thing about this shot is that I managed to get it in focus.
On another completely different subject; people who work in camera shops are wankers!!! I know that's a general type statement but that is my conclusion. No wonder people buy off the internet instead of having to deal with pretentious, chest beating, boring, wanky tosspots!!!! There I've said it now!
So I want to say thanks for stopping in to check out my project. You are the stars!
Hey, I never say this, but check it out on black. It's a cracker!
Wow Terrie that's a great shot the sky is alight with stars. I must have a go at this sometime. Up for an early morning shoot tomorrow, not sunrise thank goodness.
@elaine55 Thanks Elaine. I edited Sam's comment to address it to her. Note she is a tad confused tonight about whom she is commenting on. Maybe one too many wines during the big footy match today. I am doing a photography workshop tomorrow on portraits. It is being held at a winery and we are meeting up for lunch and wine first. I'm really looking forward to it. Camera battery is charging as we speak! Hope you enjoy your shoot tomorrow morning :-)
@teodw Sh*t! Sorry Terrie, AKA Robyn :) My team lost today so *some* wine has been consumed tonight to try and make myself feel better. Sincere apologies!!!!!!!!!
It does look good on black! So funny... when people say that I usually check :) What happened at the camera shop Terrie?
Poor Sam, she's had a big week :) @gigiflower
@gigiflower That's what I told @elaine55. That you had gotten into the wine!!! If it makes you feel better Sam, at least you didn't lose to Collingwood. Now that would be something to get drunk about!
@bella_ss Well, I don't know. He was a wanker when he started waffling on about how he had worked for 35 years and only used the best equipment such as zeiss and looked horrified when he realised I only had an entry level DSLR and couldn't understand how I might want to get a Nikon wide angle on a shit body and why don't I get a better camera or a cheaper lens, blah, blah, blah. I really felt he was talking down to me like he only deals with professional photogs and I was wasting his time. I won't be wasting his time anymore or spending my hard earned $$$ in that shop.
@bella_ss YES! They are always right behind the goalposts, smiling when they get a goal. Except smiling with no teeth!!!!
@teodw You and I have the same camera body and I have a fab wide angle (24-70mm). I think you take fantastic shots!!! Who cares what those imbeciles tell you :)
@gigiflower Thanks Sam. I'm going to avoid dickheads in camera shops from now on. It's good that you recommend your wide angle. I tend to take a lot of landscape type shots and I think it would be a lovely little addition to my lens collection. What brand is your lens?
@teodw I can't believe he would be so condescending! That's just awful! I always think get the best lens you're comfortable with buying, it's probably more important than the body. He would be horrified to know that I own a Zeiss lens and used it on my entry level camera, lol
@bella_ss I was also under the impression that it's the glass that counts mostly but he was saying it's the bit ratio and other factors which I'm sure is the case but not when I only went in to get a price on a lens. I do need to upgrade my current camera but I have decided to wait until it shits itself naturally, and the way I treat it that shouldn't be too far off! I need to go touch some wood now as I have a portrait workshop tomorrow and don't want it to pack it in before then! Do you barrack for an AFL team or a rugby team Sheralee?
Fabulous capture and agree that many 'experts' in camera shops only repeat what the marketing speel is. We are back on land and with reasonable internet speed should be able to check in more frequently. Thank you for commenting while I've been unable to respond regularly.
It's definitely a Milky Wayathon. Everybody's doin it.
What do u say to a Collingwood supporter with a job?
I'll have fries with that thanks
2 Collingwood Supporters in a car without any music, who is driving?
The Policeman
What do you call a 30 yr old woman in a Collingwood jumper?
Nanna
You are trapped in a room with a crocodile, a tiger and a Collingwood fan. You have a gun with 2 bullets. What do you do?
Shoot the Collingwood fan - Twice
@teodw Rugby league is the most popular up here Terrie so I watch that by default... meaning while I'm on the computer David is watching the game, lol. He does watch some AFL too though.
@terryliv Oh Poppo... Poppo... you really made me laugh out loud! Now I have to repeat those to David.
@teodw I have both a 3100 and 7000. I'm still learning the 7000 so I switch between the 2. I do love the 3100 - it's so simple and does everything I need.........the 7000 is complex (and heavier) but I like how it does do so much more!
Btw you didn't press reply for Sam's comment.
Poor Sam, she's had a big week :) @gigiflower
Great shot, Terrie! Have fun at the workshop. Hope the wind doesn't affect the portraits!

It's expensive.............but takes AMAZING photos!!! Don't be scared off by the price ;)
It could be your bike!
Entry level cameras there days are more than capable. What a snob!
