Roos on the beach by teodw

Roos on the beach

Murramarang has no shortage of kangaroos. This morning many of them were down grazing near the beach. When I came back to the caravan, I had to pull a tick out of "the other half's" arm. It had buried it's head in and man are those things tough to pull out. Does anyone know of an easier way to get them off?
Lovely 'silver' monochrome. Can't help with the tick.

We have a little plastic tool that we use when the dog gets them, and it gets them out whole. Check out this photo of it http://ebutik.dyrlaegevagten.dk/media/lopper/taegevejl.gif

Rubbing alcohol will sometimes make the pull out or holding a lighted match over them sometimes works to make them withdraw. Glad you caught it. Love the shot - the lighting is terrific.

Ticks freak me out, we had them really bad last summer because the roos come right up to the back fence to eat the grass but it's so dry now that they are coming right onto our front lawn. Nice processing in b&w.

Nice shot of the roos. Scraping or pulling ticks out is fine but try not to squeeze them if you can, the plastic tool which looks a little like a miniature claw on a hammer is fab if the size of the tick is right. You can get them from the vet in batemans bay. Whatever you do don't apply solvent or burn, will just inject their toxin into you!
Returning the follow with thanks.
