Pink Cloud by timerskine

Pink Cloud

I was stopped at a traffic light, waiting to turn left when I saw this in a vacant lot immediately on my right. Did I go around the block? Of course not. There wasn't anybody in the right turn lane and nobody coming from behind, so I hauled over on the wheel and used my SUV's SUVness to bounce into the lot, to the chagrin of the Missus. But this had to photographed.

I have no idea why these now-dormant grasses appeared pink - likely the way the light was refracting through the dew. Up close, the stalks were just tan and there was nothing around that was pink or red to lend a cast. Whatever it was, I'm glad I could capture it! I'm also glad that the Missus is a good sport who loves me and puts up with my impetuousness and photo impulses.
Thats interesting how the lkightfall can change colors. This is very pretty.

Very pretty grasses. I’m glad your wife goes along. I was chasing a sunset last night when I told my husband I was going to go past our neighborhood. He said, “I knew you were going to do that before you said it!”.
