The Missus and I were at a nursery and garden center when we saw a beautiful hanging plant that just screamed, "Take my picture!" It was a red maranta, a plant native to Brazil. It is also known as the prayer plant because at night its leaves fold up as if they are praying.
This close-up shows the red veins of the leaves. And the focus and detail are just fine on the picture...the graininess is the actual leaf texture.
