Here at Tim's Diner, we feed all the birds...and I do mean all the birds.
This red-shouldered hawk was sitting on our fence early this morning, looking over the extensive menu. It saw that we have a wide variety of finches and sparrows, wrens, mockingbirds, robins, thrashers, starlings, woodpeckers (in multiple flavors, including downy and red-bellied), nuthatches, titmice, and this week's special: grackles.
It remained on the fence for about 10 minutes before deciding that our bill of fare was inadequate (it couldn't be the cost since it's all free) and flew off to dine elsewhere.
