Rainbow

Okay, I'll admit it...I really, really dislike fall. I tried to make an effort this year because it seems like everyone else loves it and I thought maybe I was missing something. I booked our schedule full of fall-like activities, did fall crafts galore with the kids, and filled our house with pumpkin flavored goodies. Nope, still don't like it. In fact, I may even dislike it more now. It's true, I sometimes catch myself being wowed by the beautiful colors but then, as the leaves are falling off the trees, I am snapped back to reality and all I can think about is how the reason the leaves are falling is because they have died. Depressing, right? So what does this have to do with this photo? Well, it was a very un-fall-like day...sunny and warm, and what do I do but take my daughter to a fall festival (my last ditch effort to become "friends" with fall). I'm so happy my daughter picked out a rainbow for her face paint instead of one of the many fall/Halloween ones she could have picked...I like to think it was her way of saying, it's okay Mom, I'll bring some spring/summer to your day. Love her.
I love this composition and your DoF. It does have a bright, cheery spring look to it with the light blues and her pink shirt.

Sweet focus and composition. And its okay, you don't have to love fall. I'll still love you xx

I relate to your feelings about fall! The colors are beautiful at first, then the next time you look have the tree is naked and then 'bam!' the leaves are completely gone and the tree looks bare. I am a spring person all the way! This is a wonderful shot - I love it!
