When they are younger, you can't wait until they're older so you can do exciting things together. When they are older, you wish they were younger, when everything in life WAS exciting.
The same types of places I remember taking them as toddlers...they used to run, skip, and dance the whole way through. Now they just sulk and wonder why you are dragging them along on a story trail because "we are too old for this, Mom!"
Ahhh...but wait. All too soon they will be taking their toddlers along the trail and they'll be sharing how they always went with you when they were little....It's interesting what habits and traditions they carry on with them.
