Training

The University of Minnesota rowing team had to move their training from the sullen and swift moving flood waters of the Mississippi to Medicine Lake.
This is a lovely shot with the rowers and trainer on the water and that building and the greenery in the background.

Great shot!. Too bad the coach didn't have a megaphone to his mouth.

This took me back 50 years Tom, I used to be a rower - fours and eights and single-seat carvel built sculls as here at the front. Very difficult to master, especially in rough water, so probably a sound decision to change the training venue. I did try pairs a few times (the boat at the back) but my bowman (the one at the rear) wasn't very good at steering! I wouldn't have been either as in a racing pair the rear oarsman steers by applying bias to the kicker plate - in a training pair you have a cox on board.

Still looks a bit choppy on the water. Good action capture.

This is lovely... such nice action here. The water looks choppy, but the girls look like they can handle it. So fun to read Richard's comments and understand how things change, but they remain the same.
