Out of the ancient volcanic rock ledges on the North Shore springs new life. The basalt ledges formed eons ago with their tiny air pockets and minerals. Over time storms, wind and water have begun their transformation along with the lichen (in the photo the orange lower left) have created little pockets where tiny blue bells (blue or purple) have added their soft beauty to the rugged coast.
