The last shot of the series for April's "one month; one subject" challenge.
My get pushed challenge this week is to explore negative space, and I'm finding that slightly over-exposing helps as it makes the background a more even tone and I think it defines the negative spaces more strongly
We are get-pushed partners for next week. I noticed in your profile that you would like to learn more about PhotoShop. My challenge for you is to create a selective color photo. Your image will be black and white except for one object that is in color. These are the steps that I used:
Step 1. Copy the background image to a new layer.
Step 2. Convert the top layer to black and white.
Step 3. Turn off the black and white layer, and select the object you want to show in color.
Step 4. Turn the black and white layer back on and make sure it is selected, and add a mask layer. Choose "hide selection".
You could also do step 4 on the color layer, and choose "show selection" in the mask layer.
If you need more help, feel free to ask. I used this technique for the whole month of February in 2019.
@tdaug80 oh, that is an amazing challenge - and just the push I needed. For my "Flash of Red" for February, I had to resort to editing in Word - so a big thank-you for the steps advice, I'll give it a go! May very well be in touch with some questions. About to check out your profile and will post your challenge there asap : )
