Oh Vera, I'm intrigued. We have the same camera and I thought it only did red s/c - called partial colour - I must look for the yellow but I cannot think where it will be!!!!!
@quietpurplehaze
Hi Hazel! I am glad you discovered where it is. And I am also very impressed with what is packed into that little camera body. I am still taking lots of pictures with my Nikon D5100, but this is now my "carry around" camera, and it doesn't disappoint.
Thank you, Susie, Amy, Danette and Ann for your comments! Amy, I tried a couple of things today and I figured, it does look best where it feels "subtle" in a sense - where one color stands out already anyway. So, I am glad you felt it has natural pops of color in it.
Thank you, Quintus and Nick! I think slowly everyone is getting ready for spring - birds were crazy today, singing songs and flying all over. @quintus@nicknac
This works beautifully. Subtle and delicate and very effective. I spent a while trying to find sc on my camera but don't think it has it sadly. Back to the drawing board with Photoshop then!
Thank you very much, Quintus, Nick, Babs, Clare and Jill!
Clare, I quickly did a keyword search through an online manual for your camera, and no - it doesn't look like your camera does a selective color feature. The place for this would be in "art filters", but there was nothing there that was similar to that. The one I have gives you an option of highlighting only red, blue, green or yellow. I've just learned about it, and it was interesting to see how it plays out in an image.
Aah Vera that's so kind of you! I was also trawling through the manual this afternoon. My husband's camera does it though, so he may have to lend it out. I look forward to seeing other experiments of yours with it :)
I think that this is so lovely. The selective color is very effective and the DoF is perfect. It is so hopeful - spring will come. Really a lovely pic.
Vstap - I was happy to get that branch line, usually I have a lot of trouble "composing" the nature/flower shots. I do like how it looks, although it makes it hard to find a definite focus point and have enough depth of field to make the picture look like it was not an accidental shutter click. :)
Frances - try it, it is really fun and makes you think in new ways, although after a while of practicing the pictures stared to look a bit cheesy for me :) So, moderation on that is my goal :)
very natural pops of color. very moody, as well. i really like it.
