Old

Not much time today - just a window I passed by this morning.
As always, thank you so much for your interest in my project, views and visits!
What a curiosity inspiring photo and the textures are wonderful!

@monty147 Thanks, Montez! Me taking pictures of the old house also inspired some curiosity - a lady came up to me and started to ask if I generally take pictures of doors and windows, and why this particular house, and then moved on generally that there are not so many old buildings in town anymore, as instead of restoring, the city just starts from scratch etc etc etc... So, it was a conversation starter from the beginning :)

Perhaps it's "just a window" you pass often but as an image, the colored wall and the weathered shutters work well together.

Oh, thank you all so much for your comments on the window. I didn't expect it to receive so many comments! It is an old house downtown that seems to be vacant, and I just happened to pass by and be taken aback by its distressed nature throughout. I am glad you also enjoyed the photo.

@jyokota I am glad you saw it all in the image. This is also one of the reasons I like posting pictures here - sometimes it makes one stop and see things in a new light, not only for the purposes of taking a photo, but also after you read comments given by others who only see the subject in the picture. I am glad the image was enjoyable :)

@sophiaz :) I am glad you enjoyed it, Sophia! And that with the shooting upward - ... well, that happens to me a lot as I am not exactly tall :) Lots of times I end up sticking my camera up in the air to have more or less decent view that resembles the POV of a "normal" tall adult :) But I am glad there are benefits of my view of things too :)

@whimsicalgrateful Thanks, Marta! I didn't spend too much time on it, just a quick adjustment to the levels to make the blacks stand out more so that the cracks and peeling paint has more defined texture, and an overall level adjustment to tone down the light in the picture overall - this just made the white pop a bit more against the darker wall. That overall darkening made all the dirty spots on the wall and the rotten wood stand out more throughout the picture. So, basically two sliders used moderately.
