The Comforter

Installation by Patricia Piccinini, at the University of Michigan Museum of Art. I wish I had my camera for a better picture of her - I guess I have to go back. Today just a cell phone shot.
Thanks for visiting!

Dear all,

The response to this image really made me smile - many curious "looks", puzzled comments. Seeing this piece was a great experience - First, as you walk into an empty room with a child and a baby sitting all alone, your reaction is "Awwwww...". Then when you really look, you are puzzled, really puzzled. The "Ewwwwwwww" comes next. But since I left, I kept thinking about her, and now I really like here as both of them - the "weird" girl and a "weird" baby are actually so sweet together and don't seem to care what others think about them. So, this really leaves quite a lingering impression. Thanks for your comments!
