Christmas: Day 7
No fireplace, just a woodstove and it is downstairs, so I will hang them here this year. My stocking was made by my Grandmother for my first Christmas. She wrote my name and sewed on two little bells that ring when 'Santa' is filling them. I made the matching red one (a little fatter) for my husband the first year we were married. I also made the same style as mine for my three kids as they were born.
That is wonderful that you still have the stocking that your grandmother made for you - what a great tradition. I still hang and fill stockings for my three children. All over 20 now and left home but they have fun with it all the same.
I agree with Ruth! This is just so wonderful..the memories of that stocking must be chocked full!! How much fun and how much you have already gotten done! Great and Loving Shot!
What beauty!!!!!! I love how you hold on to old memories. But you made sure that your husband's stocking is smaller than yours (even though it is fatter) haha.
What a great tradition and precious keepsake! That is a great place to hang them. You should never get your "fill" of loving or laughing which are the real treats of life!!!!!
Oh, what wonderful memories, Vicki. How special that your grandmother made your stocking. Love that it has two little bells--I have never heard of that. And I love your shot of this--just beautiful.
I have done this for my children too. Each name is embroidered at the top of the stocking with gold thread :o) A lovely tradition that a fully appreciate xx
