OK, so I was not even going to post this. First off, I know it is lousy focus...BUT....but...it is the first time I have seen an eagle in the wild! and it is right here at the lake by my house! I was out for my walk and it swooped down and tried for a fish. So I am posting it just to mark the occasion! I now have spotted a Kingfisher and an EAGLE! I didn't even know they were around this area.
What a wonderful capture, Vicki. I would post it too and be thrilled that you can tell what it is. Usually I come home with a blue sky missing entire birds or ducks in the air.
Wish this could happen to me, here. We have many kinds of birds migrating from Africa to Northern Europe and back but, unless you are a bird watcher, it is almost impossible to see any.
Lucky you and you `ve manage to get a beautiful shot of it. Super you.
Thank you for you visits and the so nice comments and the fav. I`m very pleased with every one of them
Congrats Vicki! Great shot. He looks majestic! Do you live on Blue Lake? It think I remember you saying that. We used to go swimming there in the summer when we were kids (we lived on 160th Powell at the time. Lots of fun time there.
This must have been so exciting to watch! Still amazed you managed to get a shot of him. The first time I spotted an eagle I was horsebackriding and nearly fell off. I just kept looking up and nearly forgot I was sitting on an moving 'object'.
And by the way it really isn't that badly focused (I haven't yet mastered the art of capturing flying birds, I know how hard it is to get a somewhat decent shot).
