First thing after we got off the bus in Kalambaka, a local man that had also been on the bus decided he would lead us to our hotel. On the way he proudly pointed out this place on the side of the rock that the locals love. Every April they have a festival of St. George, at the end of the church service the youth of the town climb this rock and remove the last year's scarves and replace them with new ones. They are for wishes for good health for the next year. It is visible for all the town to see throughout the year.
This is just so amazing...so glad you captured it and shared thes story. Happy that you were able to get a closer look at it as well...but the other shot really gives it perspective. Very cool Vicki.
