I planned an indoor shoot today. Of what I wasn't sure, but I narrowed it down to smoke or water, and chose the latter.
This involved a simple set-up; my camera on a tripod with the flash mounted, water in a tray and a bottle dripping above. The tray was actually red, but I changed the white balance in post-processing to this a more interesting purple. Not the most original shoot, but nonetheless I got my photo for today.
I'll have to try the smoke shoot again in the near future. I unsuccessfully tried it on day 158, but after having a chat about it with a friend from work and looking online it seems I needed to set up my flash underneath the smoke. I'll save it for another rainy day.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

@vikdaddy Excuse the lack of "P"... it's sticking..... Funny how whenever I set up a scene, I'll take about a hundred but tend to settle on one of the first taken...
@andycoleborn Yeah that's true, not in this instance perhaps, but I think usually your gut knows what feels right, and then because it's digital you end up taking an excessive number of similar shots.
This is gorgeous!! I love the sparkles too. I did my Purple Rain shot for the purple theme week. It seems I have nothing else around my house to shoot except water!
I tried smoke twice. I got a couple of photos the first time but nothing the last time. Not to mention my house smelled like incense for a few days after. UGH.
