It snowed all day today. It was incessant and beautiful to watch, but quite treacherous outside. I went to the gym after work and took a few shots of the snowy streets, and ended up with a few photos I was pleased with.
It was a tough choice, and I couldn't decide between this and another shot I took. A couple of my others are on my Flickr page under a new set for my street photography around Nottingham ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/vikdaddy/). This was taken on the same road as the shot I took on day 194, but facing the other way. I added a texture to increase the impression of the snow in Photoshop.
I got a really lovely email today from Russia, of all places. It wasn't spam; it was from a fellow from that part of the World who had seen my blog and, at length, complimented my work. He also asked for some tips as he wants to embark on a 365 project. He took the time to send such a lovely email, so I will have to reply in kind. It made my day!
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

@wormentude Sorry about that! I really struggled to choose. In snowy conditions cameras usually try to overcompensate by using an overly warm white balance. Usually I'd 'cool' it in post-processing, but here I liked the warm tones. However, if you're actually enquiring about the look of the photo, if you use Lightroom you can download presets from the OnOne website.
@taidster I know, it does look like it, but I didn't - honest! It's the overall effect I applied in Lightroom to give the image a 'paint-like' quality.
its so great, its one of those photos that makes me feel like i'm standing there, and i got goose bumps looking at it .... thats the best photography, the stuff that makes you "feel" it ;-))
Love it!
