I didn't go out for a shoot today like I planned to. The fog had largely subsided, so I couldn't go out for a misty cemetery shoot like I suggested yesterday. Instead my good pal John Wynn popped round for a cuppa, so I took a few photos of him again. He always make a good subject.
I took numerous shots of John with his trilby on, and played with the lighting by placing the flash in various positions. In this shot I bounced the flash off a wall to achieve the semi-silhouetted effect. I really struggled to select today's photo from the set I took, but I chose this one because I felt it was the best-lit. You can see if I made the right choice by looking at a few others I posted on my Flickr page ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/vikdaddy/).
I can't believe it's the last day of the year tomorrow! 2010 has flown by. Professionally it's been uneventful; personally, it was anything but. There'll be a lot to reflect on as I look back on the year, and I think plenty to look forward to in 2011.
By the way, thank you fellow 365ers for my wonderful new year's present, as yesterday's photo got me a few more followers to hit 400 for this website. Thanks for the support!

Beautiful portrait! Love the light and b&w. But I think my favorite one is "I tip my hat to you", I don't know, I think it's different from the usual portrait, as we don't see his face.
