60 days left and counting. Exactly two months today to my birthday, and it'll also be the first day I won't have to take a daily photo. I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to more! Anyway, tonight I took a quick reverse macro shot of a bit of cotton and rag.
I made the colours more vibrant in post-processing and increased the clarity and contrast. I also added a texture to give it more character.
I was almost in tears this morning. I usually watch the news as I eat my breakfast, and there was an excerpt of an interview with a Japanese man. He was stoic to begin with, as he mentioned that he has lost his wife, his mother and his four children. After a brief pause, he began to weep uncontrollably, stating that he just doesn't know what to do. For me - more than any of the images in the news - this brought home the emotional impact of the Japanese earthquake. If you do only one thing tomorrow, please make it a donation to your national Red Cross in aid of the relief efforts - even if it's just a fiver.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

whoa, just read your story. I'm making a donation right now... honestly. I've been avoiding the news like a plaque, I don't have a stomach for any of this, but I haven't donated yet. Will do right now. Thanks.
