Isn't Labor Day the day we rest from our labors? That never seems to work for me .... I think I did the dishes four times today (and half the dinner dishes are still in the sink). Lily and Jack and I made pumpkin muffins for breakfast and we made rotini lasagna for dinner, but the good news is that I finally got to make the blueberry plum basil jam that I was trying to make with Marianne's basil last week. Someone kept eating my plums so I hid the ones I bought yesterday at the farmer's market and (since I'm not in Erie) I had to use blueberries from Target of all places, but it was worth it (even the extra dishes) ... The recipe doesn't make much but I'm not sure how much blueberry plum basil jam one person needs.
@margonaut It's delicious! and yes, you can find the recipe here: http://www.canningacrossamerica.com/recipes/blueberry-plum-basil-jam-small-batch/ . . . It was really easy to make. I didn't have quite the ratio of blueberries to plums and I changed the lemon juice to lime juice (and doubled it). If I make it again next summer I would use lemon basil. It would be great on a warm biscuit . . .!
@glassjennifer It is sooo good! I wish it would last until Christmas so I could bring some home. Maybe I will try to freeze some. It's really good with cream cheese on a bagel.
