Many years ago I read an article by Garrison Keillor in a Lands End Christmas catalog. His basic premise was that you can't really give someone their heart's desire so you should give them socks and underwear instead. Then they can buy their own heart's desire. I actually like getting practical gifts . . . like soap and washcloths . . . so that's what I put on my Secret Santa list. My Secret Santa gave me these washcloths today . . . so practical but they are too cute to use! (In an ironic twist . . . after yesterday's photo. . . she also gave me a string of tiny snowflake lights. Wonder how long it will take me to figure out how to hang them . . .)
