It's Nick's fall break, but he has to work, so Lily and I went down to take him out for lunch today. Afterwards we took a walk by the Rappahannock River. We walked over a scary concrete bridge that led to a tiny island where we found all the treasures on the right. I love the orange fungus -- so October! The underside was bright yellow. It almost looks like a butterfly from this angle. I've never seen day flowers growing in the wild. They are really little! Lily took the fern photo . . . it was growing out of a rock.
