I blame Mr. Zawistosky. In 10th grade he made me and the other girl in drafting class sit in the back because "girls couldn't be architects." (One of my younger brothers disputes this. He had the same teacher, but he was a boy so he probably got to sit in front.) If I'd been able to sit in front I would have had better plans for my assignment.
