griswold pan display in the restaurant supply store

Griswold made cast iron skillets in Erie for a hundred years. My best friend's grandmother used to housesit when the Griswolds went out of town. She always let us stay overnight when she was there. Their house was a huge mansion with a really long driveway. Her grandma drove about 90 mph pulling in to the driveway (actually she drove that fast all the time and she was very short so she practically had to look through the steering wheel to see out the window -- this was so long ago that kids never wore seat belts) and Kim and I would be sitting in the back seat with our eyes bugging out, holding on for dear life. After our harrowing trip up the driveway we got cookies and were allowed to explore. We always slept in a bedroom that had really high beds.
What a great story! Were all the Griswold cast iron skillets porcelain-coated? Seems like an American Le Creuset.

@margonaut This is the first time I've seen a porcelain-coated one and the sign said it was a special edition from the 1950s -- something to research when I get back home and have Internet service!
