Still working on this project . . . I was trying to decide if I could live with the numbers not being straight but after seeing the picture I think I have to take it apart. Sigh.
@margonaut So funny, after debating I decided to keep it this way partly because this particular one is the dewey decimal number related to Cuyahoga Valley National Park (in Cleveland) and Cuyahoga means "crooked"!
