My sister-in-law, Vicki (and I), like to read books (especially mysteries) that take place in the places we visit. On our last trip to Maine we discovered the Gray Whale Inn series by Karen MacInerney, which takes place on Cranberry Island. This time we figuoout how to take the ferry over for a visit. I found it fascinating that at every stop someone got on or off with flats of flowers. And at this stop, a man came up to the captain when the ferry docked and said “I’m Richard. You have a bag of dead spiders for me?” That was odd enough, but the brown paper bag the captain handed him was huge!
