Stayed at this charming little Air BnB last night. It was so cozy with lots of fun touches — like the comfy four poster bed with carved acorns on the posts in my room; a cool box in the shower that dispensed soap, shampoo, and conditioner; and this adorable quilt on the bed in one of the other rooms — but we were a little frightened by some of the paintings . . . “We’re all going to die,” was my daughter’s comment when we arrived (late at night in the pouring rain). “No, it’s fine,” I said, eyeing a bookshelf with horror novels while mental saying the rosary. We awoke this morning to sunshine and birds singing after a very restful sleep, and in the warm light of day the paintings were not nearly as scary. So, in the end, it was more than fine; it was very lovely. Maybe we should watch a little less episodes of “Stranger Things.”
@margonaut When we got out of the car my daughter said that there was a “creepy woman staring out the window at us” from the house next door. Then we couldn’t immediately locate any of the light switches, so the paintings were just the icing on the cake! Luckily there were three bedrooms upstairs with non-scary art!
