tante klara’s linens

Debating cutting them up for a quilt . . .
you do have to be brave to do that kind of thing. I always tell myself that I am honoring the textile by giving it a new life.

@margonaut That’s what I was thinking too but I haven’t been brave enough to do it yet. I’m working on a strawberry quilt that’s on the cover of American Patchwork & Quilting this month (although mine is very scrappy). There are some 3-1/2 inch squares and 5 inch squares in the background that would be good places for the linens. I’m waiting to make sure I love the quilt first before I cut into them. I’ve been cutting it out for over a week — my arm is really slowing things down, but I’m still off from work for another three weeks so I’m hoping to get it at least started. Piecing is not my strength (that’s why I needed the pins — hahahaha!).
