In half the slides we looked at this past week we were sitting in the the dining room — birthdays, holidays; five or six different houses — and in every picture except one (must have been Thanksgiving) there is a plate of ham sitting on the table. And everyone is dressed up. Our ham looked like this and we were all wearing sweatpants and t-shirts. Our standards have really lapsed.
Close enough! Sweatpants are self-care clothes and that counts for something these days.

@margonaut We moved from Columbus, Ohio to Erie when I was 10. That same year my uncle and former aunt (Lynn of hula-hooping fame) moved to Long Island. I don’t think we ever dressed up for a holiday or birthday after that!
