Kiss – My Distortion

This is part of the sculpture named Per Capita that means “for each head of population”. It consists 4 portraits in profile; two are in positive form and two in negative space. They like 4 pieces of puzzles, but they don’t fit together. Says the artist Cathryn Monro “An obvious sense of fitting and belonging is immediately confounded”. It is “a visual conversation about the complexity of New Zealand's cultural identity”.
