Mantua Center Christian Church by yentlski

Mantua Center Christian Church

This is a small country church in my hometown, with its prominent steeple and distinctive New England-style design. Built in 1840, it is the oldest Disciples of Christ Church in Ohio. James A. Garfield, future president of the United States, frequently preached here between 1855 and 1860, while serving as president of nearby Hiram College (formerly Hiram Eclectic Institute).

Beautiful. Looks much like the church I attended in Vienna, VA as a child which was also a Disciples of Christ. Even the same type parking lot!

That's a really nice photo -- it typifies the plain white frame church so popular in the states. Fav
