That's how long it's been since we met as convention delegates from the southern half of California & Arizona. As sometimes happens in the very best of situations, we bonded as close friends and have been meeting for lunch every year since. It's my good fortune to live the most centrally, and they drive and fly in each January. I was amongst the youngest, and yet only two of our members have passed away. One now lives in Colorado and is 102! I've seen so many pictures of the long-lasting friendships you also have, so you know we've been through almost every imaginable life experience together.
I always feel good at the end of a day I've spent with them. We'll keep in touch and mark our calendars for next year's lunch together.
@darylo Thanks for that comment that made me smile! Can you pick out the 91 year old? She's quite an exceptional artist as well!
@kerristephens@salza@danette Thank you all! The lady seated at the center was at that same comvention again this year...still a very active member. She met up with another of our group from all those years back who gave her a scrapbook to share. Surprisingly (!...or not surprisingly?) all the illustrative photos in it from '79 were copies of my pictures. I've been at this for a long time ;)
@joansmor We all commented on that... The scrapbook contained typed hand-outs that the hotel probably copied for everyone! Who amongst us would go back to the time-killer that that era was!
@allie912 It was you I was thinking of when I spoke of seeing long-term friends getting together! Thanks Allie! I can say assuredly that everyone feels so good each time we're able to get together another year!
