I'm Gonna Sit Right Down & Write Myself a Letter ...
I spent the day making art textures for my photos so I could order some cards for the summer. The Lunenburg Art Gallery will also sell my cards as well as hang a photo-a-month (or more if they sell along the way...) I have many Lunenburg images as well as getting a jump on Thanksgiving, Christmas and "Happy Holidays"!
I can hardly wait to get my summer underway ... and Christmas, too!

@Weezilou Yes, I did get the invite. I will have to check with Osia, she is carpooling with me and I don't know how late she wants to stay. If it works out, I would love to stay later than the brunch. I will let you know.

Oh, Louise, when we couldn't find our guest passes in the folder they belong in, we were reminded we gave them to some friends to use several months ago. We had completely forgotten about it Really sorry...... We'll have more next year.... Maybe for a photo shoot at Wild Animal Park/Safari Park
This is so beautiful! I'm so glad you decided to do the cards. I think they will do very well and will compliment your other work. Plus they are nice to have to use or give to others. I have to get more cards printed too.
Louise, You `re very talented in this. They are beautiful . Great you`ve a gallery to sell them. I`ve less time the last weeks to do much off processing my pic.`s. Still some classes to teach and jewel making and gardening makes my day`s busy .

I'm happy to share that "OnOne Photo Effects" was being offered for free about a year ago and one of our community members posted of its availability. I LOVE using it! The texture is called "placemat"...and there's a "Brocade" texture on one of the petals...didn't want too much. Additionally, I've photographed old cards, letters, ephemera, music as well as more texture and have uploaded those to use. I couldn't repeat a photo if I tired! For each texture, you can tweak it a million ways...but therein lies the fun! Sometimes when I "finish", I want to add a little more and sometimes do that in Photoshop. From years of doing mixed media collage art, I know a piece works best if words and text are only hinted at which is why this is so easy by comparison! I'm guessing there are many other software applications, but I'm really loving this one and use it daily! (Does that help?)
@joansmor Hi Joan! We have tickets for July 3rd...hold a good thought for us that we can be on our way by then as we cancelled the first tickets for June 16 :( I'm beginning to get around so much better I want to be *there*! So glad you know the Maritimes...Beautiful there, isn't it?!
@peggysirk haha...haven't had a lazy one yet! People socialize, entertain visitors, volunteer around town and partake of music festivals and film fests! And I bake a lot, passing most of it along to willing takers! I love our summers there!
@chard@hbdaly We'll (hopefully) be in the house on July 4th, but no one will be celebrating the *4th if July*! Of course that leaves more time to prepare for Christmas : D

Speaking of same, you'll be on your way very shortly! I'm sure you're really looking forward to all that lies ahead! Please, no worries about the tickets! It was just so very sweet of you to offer them! For sure we'd love to join you at the park next year...we haven't been there i ages and I always loved it! I'm only sorry you and John won't be with us Sunday. I know it will be great fun in everyone's company...maybe "Food Photography" will be the order of the day!

@Weezilou We are really upset that we won't be with you all on Sunday. We'll definitely be thinking about you. Know you'll all post photos. Yes, we are anxious to be on the road, but....... Still leaving on Thursday. Finally found a place for Canadian medical insurance. Our plan is good for a year. Good for any foreign travel for a year. If an emergency arises in Canada, and we feel we need to fly up this next year, we've got it. (The dogs know something is happening for the RV. They go out with us when we're packing it, and they jump in and won't get out. We have to bribe them. They love traveling in the RV.)
how awesome!! No doubt the cards will sell like hot cakes! I hope this image is making it onto a card. I dabled in making my own textures to overlay onto photos. It was actually a really interesting process and a shift in the way your eye works in order to see what makes a good texture as apposed to a good photo.
@colorfade I've been doing the same! I "study" how my purchased textures have been done and how they affect the colour of a photo. It's a whole new topic to look for! Thanks for you note!
