While the gulls stayed at bay, there was no shortage of sparrow-sorts who came around looking for a handout. The boys left most of their french fries, so I saw photo possibilities. Within this frame, counting two in the upper left and the tip of a tail at 4 o'clock, there are 18 birds! Before we were ready to leave, I had some flying in to eat off of my hand. Now if I could just work something like that out with the birds in my back yard!
Dr Doolittle you are at it again! They come wherever you are! What a lovely capture of so many sparrows - delightful! We used to have many sparrows in the gardens and hedgerows but something happened to them a few years ago in the UK and we do not see them in such great numbers now which is sad as I love their little chirping!
On the bright side, if you have that many birds in your back yard, you won't have to worry about any insects, you sure won't need mosquito spray! Your sweet photo makes them look so innocent.
@summerfield Not in my yard this time, but we always have many there as well! These are well-trained birds who reside by this open-air restaurant with tables out on the grass! I can't act too proud for having them come around as they go where the food is offered! (The boys didn't finish their fries!)
