Hops

After work today I drove downtown to buy a gift for a friend and parked the car at one of the downtown parking lots - when leaving on foot I noticed that hops were clinging to the fence at the corner of the entrance of the parking lot... Of course I had my camera by my side, so I quickly grabbed a few shots... (and immediately received a few weird glances from people passing by :-D hehehe...).
The latin name of the hop plant is "Humulus Lupulus", and I've always liked the rounded shape of the hop flower - it looks like a small pine cone but it's much more delicate of course. Most people know that hop is a key ingredient in beer brewing, but hop is also used in herbal medicine where it's known for its antibacterial and calming effects.

Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + Lensbaby Velvet 56 f1.6/56mm.
Beautiful! People give us weird glances because they don't notice the very things we're shooting. It makes them confused and suspicious.
