A robin cleverly made her nest under the eaves of our house earlier this spring, and while she was away getting food for her two hatchlings, I took the opportunity to use my 70-300mm zoom lens to catch shots of the little ones from a non-threatening distance.
This image is cropped from a much larger photo, but thanks to Abobe Raw's new super-enhance feature I was able to share more than a pixelated image. After severely cropping the photo, I can share this with you.:-)
@phil_howcroft I was gobsmacked at how the Super-Enhance allowed me to take a photo where the nest was less than 10% of the image and crop it down so much. Those teeny, tiny feathers on the underside of the beak .. well, I think that I might be going back to some of my older raw files and see if I can salvage shots where I wasn't able to get close enough to fill the frame.
@ljmanning When I went outside this morning I looked over at the nest and it was empty! The little ones have apparently fledged because there was no sign of them or their mom at all today. No sign that they were attacked by a predator, which was my first worry. The nest itself looks exactly like it looks in this photo, I'm thinking positive that the little ones are exploring the larger world.
