A rather more understated actual birthday after all the activity and excitement of the weekend. In fact felt a bit deflated after Dave left for work - I'd taken the day off as I always do on my birthday.
Opened presents from sister and friends and set off for mum's. Put up her new shower curtain but didn't feel confident with hanging her wall rug so left that for another day. Unfortunately she wasn't keen on the garment I'd ordered for her, mainly because she hadn't realised it was all in one.
Got an Uber to the Turkish restaurant for a very nice meal of grilled halloumi, sea bass and salad, and prosecco. I remembered the chocolate fudge cake from last time and couldn't resist ordering it.
Got Dave's presents when he got back - some nice things: London underground jigsaw, a couple of interesting books and the most wonderful looking tequila.
Unfortunately though he wasn't feeling great, achey, weary and spaced out, so he retired early.
3 good things
1. Sister T got me very nice Neal's Yard arnica and seaweed foaming bath so had a bath before going out, very soothing for joints etc.
2. My mum mentioned the sofa she was planning on ordering - I stopped her from making a costly mistake by measuring her doorways and assuring her it wouldn't fit.
3. Mum ate the ice cream from my chocolate cake saving me a few calories 🤣
Happy birthday for yesterday, sorry I missed it. Sorry too to hear that Dave wasn't so clever on your day, hope you are both feeling better soon and you get another evening of being spoiled :-)
Ps, your mum eating the ice cream is a good thing? No no! Grins.
