Her and Rosie are the best of friends - they go swimming in the sea together, sleep on the same bedding.
Also getting on in years, unfortunately. I have a dread that I’m going to lose a few dogs one right after the other, leaving a huge gap and empty space in our home, where they are much loved and treasured.
Gypsy was a dog that was chained up 24 hours a day at a house down the road from us. I couldn’t bear to see this sweet and pretty but emaciated and neglected dog in such distress. The owners didn’t care much, I figured, so I asked them if they’d sell her - which they happily accepted, can you imagine selling your dog without a second thought! - and took her home. She has never seen a chain again.
Tears me up inside to know that there are people who would treat a dog that way. I am so glad that you found the courage to welcome Gypsy into your home and family.
