Cooking with My Daughter

FYI, not my photo! Photo creds to my daughter Kira!

Nothing gives me more pleasure than being in the kitchen with my children and watching them cook! My daughter found this recipe: http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/black-noodles and we set about making it. The only item in the bunch that I prepared were the "match stick" carrots. Otherwise, I was in the kitchen demonstrating with one thing and then letting my daughter do the entire process of making the dish (including sharpening of knives--a kitchen essential!). So here is our version of "Black Noodles." Just an FYI, we did not make any croutons, nor did we use a full 1/2 cup oil for the garlics. I cut up the crispy garlic afterwards also for flavoring. We really did a rough interpretation of the recipe, but the girl did good and we ate a wonderful dish with lots of flavor!
Looks delicious! Beautiful presentation!

Oh yum! I should look through your album for ideas - our mentor group is doing food this month, and I think it is hard to make food look good like this.

@888rachel Lighting for food is hard. I like using natural light outdoors when possible. Here are a few of my favs (the last one was not done outdoors for lighting::
