Far be it for me to criticise other photographers and I'm sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but my thoughts on seeing some of the photographs in this article were that there are some incredibly talented individuals on 365project who could knock spots off this lot.
My opinions only - feel free to shout at me, unfollow me or whatever.
hahahaa i agree- but i also see PP's and TT;s on 365 that beg the same question - actually they are deserving - but there are so many on 365 that also fill the spot and never make it
@steampowered I wholeheartedly agree, but there are so many talented photographers out there it's hard to make a mark. I've settled for being a keen (occasionally talented) amateur than trying to gain any recognition in the wider world.
The BBC, taking everyone's license fee occasionally looks outside of London to make us all feel included, I fear this is a cultural story from Wales which fit the bill regardless of its merits. some of the pictures are really banal, but I must admit I love the Jews on holiday one, it reminds me of good street photography from the US 1960s, really well composed and slightly bizarre.
@steampowered - yes, there is so much fabulous work in 365 that would beat this hands down......... but some of us are much further down the chain and not sure how far we can climb! Good share! :-)
@chewyteeth jews on holiday rocks! Quite funny but it made me laugh a little as it reminded me of driving thru NE london last night and passing a bunch of ppl dressed that way
These photographs aren't meant to be fine art, if one takes time to read the article, they are journalistic and meant to convey a message - which I think all of them did fabulously. I think one must first understand the purpose of a photo in order to then appreciate it.
They didn't seem all that remarkable to me either. I get that they were telling a story and not necessarily designed to be photographic art, but they really seem more like a collection of snapshots.
If there is a message from these images it gets lost because of the poor composition of many. I am one to usually make this comment, but so many of these had the main subject in the center which detracted from any message.
I could show at least that many images that are better from one of any photo event I host for a meetup group.
@steampowered I'm with you Paul. Nice collection of snapshots, my favoutrite is the "puzzle" with one half of the sheep on the right side and the other on the left. But you cares about my opinion I'm not a photographer I only take pictures

@chewyteeth - funny. I was grabbed by the same theme. It really has that feeling.
It is also for that reason why I don't enter any comps.
