For anyone like me that started in 1st January 2011 - this 365 year is nearly over!
I wanted to go out with a real bang - but December has instead been a real flop (i'm guessing that's the same for many - Dec is a busy time) and i'm about to go on holiday away from the internet so won't even get to complete this year until next year :)
So before I go and so December isn't such a waste and so we can all share (which is the nice part of 365), please put your favourite December photo up - I would have said for the year but that's hard to pick just one!
Here's mine! Enjoy the rest of 2011 - see you in 2012 - I have a good feeling about it!
Although this is quite a gruesome photo it is my favourite this month because before undertaking the 365project I would never have contemplated taking a photo like this.
I started December 31st last year. On December 30th, I will be sharing a collage of my favorite shot from each month. This has been an interesting and fulfilling year! This shot is my favorite because of the old/new contrast and because of the color tones.
Life has become so busy for me, being artisitc with my photography has been put on the back burner, sadly, but here is my absolute fav for December, it is Sofia.
@bobfoto yes I think bugs are definitely "your thing".... You have totally inspired me this year with your shots.... Bugs are one thing I never thought I would photograph but this project and your shots have really inspired me to give it a go. Just gotta drag that macro lens of mine out a bit more.
Although photos of dead men are a close second to your bug shots!!! LOL!
@nattybabe - Why thank you Nattybabe, My macro lens is now a fixture on my camera... prior to the 365 it was always the telephoto. Even two of the dead-man shots have been macro shots.
Probably this one for me:
I liked this as it's a subject I've shot so many times during the year, but I found a new compositional angle with this one & really liked it.
This is a VERY difficult question to answer...I have a few that I think are better "photography-wise"...others that are favourites because of the moment I captured or how I felt at that time...and others just because...
So. I've eventually gone for one that isn't really good photography as such, but it's the one photo of mine that the 365 community have given the most attention! It's also the only family photo I've taken (infact I've always been very reluctant to upload photos with people in) - and my family mean so much to me, so here they are, at their silliest! I don't finish until April, so plenty of time to try and get a sensible one before then!
It's so hard to decide - this may not have been my favorite other than the fact that I actually really paid attention to how i composed this image, and usually i just snap wihtout thinking. so i guess i like it mostly because i put some thought into it!
Two more to go- but I already know they won't top this one as far as being my favorite. I did a "same subject for 7 days" challenge last week and my granddaughter helped out with this shot. I just love her expression. Congratulations to all the "graduates" of 365- the class of 2011!
It has to be this one! I love how the shot turned out. It is such a beautiful place and it was the end of a really happy and healing week staying with a really good friend. A month before my daughter was in bits as a relationship of over 3 years ended very suddenly. This shot is evidence that her broken heart had definitely started to mend :oD
This is very emotional for me. There are many 365ers that are finishing up on their and not going to be posting any more ...It's like losing a good friend. I never thought that when I joined I would ever be emotionally connected to anyone here. But not so...so it is with sadness that I say good bye to those of you who are ending their year with 365 and very happy for those that will carry on so we can keep this relationship going!! Tineke, I haven't been following you for very long but I have loved seeing your photos. Have a good time off and can't wait for your return. This is one of you December photos that I really enjoyed!!
Hmm Still have a few empty spots to fill for the beginning of the month :-S But I'm thinking this one, because it was so much fun to make:
(although I really like the one I made for the last day of the year too.... my big bang sort of speak: Pterocentaur )
Congratulations on nearly being finished! Mine will be over at the end of January, but I'm already planning to do another. Here's my fave pic from December:
This was almost as hard as picking my fave for the year! I settled on this one because of the emotional impact it has on me...
Pearl Harbor
In the summer of 2007 my sisters and I "inadvertently" went to Hawaii and while we were there we visited Pear Harbor – an incredibly moving experience! Tonight I took a photo of four of the pics I took that day and made this collage. Clockwise from top right: a flag from the USS Arizona; approaching the memorial from the ferry; a list of those who lost their lives that day; the sunken remains of the Arizona. While making and posting this collage I have felt a welling of some of the same emotions I felt on that visit... among them sadness and awe and pride.
Hard to believe that I just have one more picture to take to finish the year. Here is my favorite from December, at least at this moment. There are a few that I could pick as my favorite.
@tnaki i have loved your photos so much! such talent! the birds one is just stunning!
@swilde just lovely!
Its going to be bittersweet finishing this project, will miss it but relieved to take a break for a while!
i have two favs this month and both very different
This one for its colour and simple beauty
and this for its artistic merit and story
Happy New Year to all :-)
this one
and this one because it's a great picture of my parents and it makes me smile
Although photos of dead men are a close second to your bug shots!!! LOL!
Congrats on getting to the end!
This photo has abstract style and great color.
This one had drama and technique.
This is mine. It's actually in my own top 5 for my project -
I liked this as it's a subject I've shot so many times during the year, but I found a new compositional angle with this one & really liked it.
My personal favourite:

Not having any snow in December was new for this area, but this photo sums up December with its own beauty.
(although I really like the one I made for the last day of the year too.... my big bang sort of speak: Pterocentaur )
or this one

This one I think (I took it yesterday). Or today's picture has to be incredible, but I don't think so haha ;p
It's also a little symbolic; it's my final 365 day today, and at this point, I cannot see where the path is leading me...
