Hi. I am just discovering this site, & am already really loving it. Browsing popular blogs & new faces on here has been a big part of my lazy Sunday today! ;)
Basically I'm posting on here, because I'm contemplating joining Ace & see there are a ton of people on here who have indeed joined themselves. I'm just wondering why you would recommend it to someone, or if you would.
I don't think I'd have much use of the photo editor I read it comes with..I have CS4, so I have photoshop along with a place to store my photos. Can I ask why, if you are an Ace member, you choose to be an Ace member? And what you like about it? Or if you are not an Ace member, if you have input as to why it won't really pay to have it, I would appreciate that too!
I know it won't make or break my bank, but, again, I just found this site today, & browsing around everyone seems to be very helpful on here, & I would love to hear what you have to say!
I joined after about three months as a sign of support to the web-site creator. The extra features like telling me to FAV'd a photo etc and the suggestions page are nice, but it was really about giving back to something I was truly enjoying so much!
I am a newbie as well and enjoyed my first few days so much I wanted to support the site. As for extra albums, I wanted one for collages and overflow so I could get feedback and push myself to do more. I wanted to try some challenges and themes without losing site of why I started this (to document my family/surroundings).
I joined to support the site and its great to see your stats! You can check out who faved your shots and see if anyone viewed any older shots! The three albums are awesome too!
..I must say, I love how almost everyone mentions they join more so for supporting the site, more than anything else!
I have a follow up question..if I were to join, use the extra folders, then don't join again, right away, what would happen to the pictures in those folders? Would they be deleted? Or if I were to join a second time would they still be there?
I did it first to support the site. It's a great bargain for a year! I also really like the statistics page, and the photo suggestions have been useful too. I only use one extra album, but it's nice to have space for challenges from time to time.
$20 for this community alone is worth it. The stats are nice to see. The extra albums are great to have. I got hooked within a day of being on here lol
@beccameier Yes... Although Ross will send you an email reminder that you ACE membership is coming to an end so you will have the choice whether to carry on and pay for another year or not......
But then again - keep you 'extra' pics and nothing's really lost apart from comments/favs extra...
I'll join Jase in being a minority. I like the idea of supporting the site, but I reckon' I've convinced a few people to sign up here and buy ace memberships and that I have contributed to date. And besides, I don't care for additional albums or whom faved what, there are other ways of finding this info out. And some of the adverts in the past few days have cracked me up, I can handle the occasional ad on this site.
@beccameier I just rejoined and my extras stayed , not sure what would happen if you did not rejoin but the fee is ridiculously cheap . Best $20 I spent last year . Even though I became inactive part way through last year even $20 for six months was worth it. I am back hoping to get a full year out of this years ace membership and was so surprised to see it still so cheap, as other things have risen in price so much.
I also just started (January 1). I joined after a few days because I'd already learned so much! Even without any perks, this is a terrific site and worth supporting, but having the two additional albums makes it a good investment as well.
I became an Ace member after about a week of joining the site last January. I did it for two reasons, as others have mentioned....
1. to support Ross and the site, I really do love the community here and
2. for the additional albums - I sometimes take a lot of photos, and want to share them, I also enjoy entering the competitions so am currently using all 3 albums.
I've been a bit crazy at a new job so haven't used the site much in the past few months, but am making sure I have time to look through photos, I have missed seeing what others have been shooting, and what is happening in their lives.
@cazann Did you find the Fav's yet? When you click the drop down You, Your Stats and then the photos showing for Most Viewed, Top Rated, etc and click on a photo. It shows who commented and who Fav'd. Not sure how you do the other photos. I get an email notice when someone Fav's Do you get that?
I'm not an ACE member as I like forcing myself to have the discipline to only choose one photo for the day as I have a tendency to be very indecisive! Having said that I think it's well worth doing and as soon as I start year 2 I will more than happily pay as the site is awesome!

@tigerdreamer There's a feature called 'suggestions' under browse that shows pictures you might like based on who you follow and comment on. It's a neat way to find new people you might like.
All i can say is what my Son told me the other Day " Best 20 dollars you ever spent Mom"...this says it all to me...When MaMa'a Happy ...Everybodys Happy!! lol!!....Also you will enjoy having an additional albumn for challenges or Extra's you will want to share with the meny friends you are about to meet!! This is the Best Community !! Come Join Us! ...Supporting the site will become a no brainer! :)

Even if I didn't want multiple albums, I'd have probably aced up anyway. $20 is a small price to pay to support this site.
