Sorry if being fussy but uploaded photos and don't seem to have any comments yet
, perhaps my photos are just rubbish and mo one wants to say ! Thought when I joined there was active feedback or am I being impatient or is there something I forgot to do like a link or something ? Please help .ta al

@alsaintsfc Ah patience! You don't have any followers yet and being interactive on the site is the best way to get involved and get some feedback! Have a look around and follow some folks whose images appeal and things will happen!

Al the reason you aren't getting comments is because no one has begun following you yet. The best way to get comments is to follow people and post comments on their photos and then in return they will most likely follow you and post on yours

@alsaintsfc I am now following you. It does take some time and it must be said, effort, but it will come. Your first photos are cool by the way!

When I first joined over a year ago I had the same problem. What I did was to look at the new faces page http://365project.org/browse/new-faces and select folks who were at the same stage of their projects as I was and then followed them. Most were kind enough to follow me back. Try it and see what happens!

Just like all the others said - you have to follow other people and comment on their pictures in order to get comments back. You only get out what you put in.

Watch that @steampowered geezer though @alsaintsfc , he is nuts......
February 27th, 2014
@kporte Cheers Keith! I don't know why people think I am nuts. Just because I collect raw sausages...

find people who post images you like and follow them ---------it does take time -------------but follow and things will happen

It will take a little while. Follow some people whose work you like and you'll gradually start to get comments. It's a reciprocal site. You get out what you put in.

As everyone has mentioned it's a case of getting involved in the community. Follow others and they will follow you. Also you can get involved in the various challenges that are around and there are the New Faces Page, the Popular Page and if you have an ACE account you (I think) have a Suggestions Page. If you look at the drop down menu under Browse there are lots of ways to find people. But it is all very much about getting involved and enjoying yourself. Have fun! :D

Thanks everyone for there comments and help . Think I will enjoy this site , started project on Sunday posting old photos is it ok to start taking a photo a day from now and amalgamate or get seperate folders and diff projects ?
February 27th, 2014
Your project, your rules. :D It really is that simple. We all have different rules. Say for example me I still take a photo every day but I sometimes don't have the time to upload that photo every day so I just upload as and when but I try not to bulk upload. It's just about having fun. Some people use the project to document their life and others to showcase their learning curve in photography and others so much more.

@coolgirlsar thanks Sarah for reply . Guess I'm just being cautious cause I'm a new bee lol

Off to show some love on your project. See, you only had to ask ;-)
February 27th, 2014
@alsaintsfc It's your project and up to you how you run it, many people run a true 365 I have always adopted a more pragmatic approach because of work/family commitments and posted shots taken around the date.

@alsaintsfc, I'm new too ...and only have one follower. I have started looking at the "new faces" and "popular" thumbnails to find others to follow and comment on their photos. Hopefully, things will develop from there. I know your feeling, because I had begun to think that maybe this wasn't the thing for me after not having views. I'm going to stick with it and see what happens. Hope you do, too! Following you now ;)

@kimdupuy @alsaintsfc Echoing what everyone else has said. It is really hard to find a project "floating in the vaccuum," so the way to get noticed is to comment, tag, and get involved. Joining challenges can help as people are more apt to search those tags and find unexpected photos than they are to search something more generic.

I'm also a newbie, and over the first week I started following many people, who in turn, have been kind enough to reciprocate. Now, its just a matter of commenting on their photos, and they comment on mine. I am addicted! :) Will check you out now :)

@kporte Ha at least someone else recognises he is mad. Thought it was just me.

@alsaintsfc Eh, I have been on for a year + and although I have a few solid followers, I rarely get more than two comments(from those good few-thank you!). I have grown to appreciate these few immensely and leave any other anticipations behind. I am taking great pics, I have joined challenges, tagged, commented, follow, etc and still same low visibility. It is what it is. Take pics for the benefit of yourself, if others want to appreciate - lucky you!

I don't get many to keep following also. I just figured it is because I am not good enough yet to be interesting. But it' ok, I am learning from all the best.
February 27th, 2014
I just started a few days ago, and immediately followed a few people and left comments. Within 11 short days I have 21 I am following and 8 followers and I still have no idea how I did it

@kimdupuy Kim, you know I'm following you!!! I can vouch for your great photos and I know you personally, so I'm very glad you are here. I've had to really cut back on my commenting in the second year, but the best way to get involved and get feedback is to ask questions, comment on other shots --and if you choose very popular photographers, it's hard to get feedback from them because of the time involved--they are literally unable to get back to everyone. The new faces page is great because you will be in the same boat with them and you can work on building 365 friendships as you go. I have some people on here I feel like I know so well. I would also really encourage you to try some of the challenges (Camera Settings Challenges are some of the best), anything @archaeofrog puts out there (like her bookclub and the upcoming Macro March challenge). It depends on your interests. I'll try to make sure I stop by as much as possible. Oh and last thing. I found that making comments that are QUESTIONS really help too. When we say something like "great shot" there is not much to respond to, but if you are interested in HOW someone achieved a shot or want to know what lens or the processing used, then almost everyone responds to the question. So don't be afraid to ask questions about what people think of your photos or what you might want to know about others' photos. Starting takes time. You'll be in the groove after about two months. And let's go on a photo walk some time! There are other 365ers in our area too! It's so much fun. Daryl :)

@alsaintsfc Probably already been said - but my advice - being relatively new just a couple of months ago is to get involved... join in the themes and competitions, watch, learn and participate. This is a great site with lovely, friendly, encouraging, eople who all share the one same passion... photography in its many guises

people!
February 27th, 2014
I think we all have the same problem starting out,be patient and follow others and you'll have people following you, too.
February 27th, 2014
@alsaintsfc the only other thing I would add is to check out the other tags when browsing the photos too. Tons of fantastic photos are on the latest tag and the day tag. I could sit all day just flicking through admiring all the talent that is on this site!
Enjoy your project and welcome. Its amazing here but very addictive LOL :)
