Right now my desktop is a National Geographic photo of a fennec fox walking against the wind. (the first one here: http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2013/05/2013-national-geographic-traveler-photo-contest/100516/ )
This one of my daughter. It is one of my favorite portraits of her. And because of the orientation and it being centered, my icons don't sit on top of it..
I use a program called "John's Background Switcher" to display a random selection of photos from a folder. All my 365 & Flickr pictures are in the folder. :)
Used to change mine just about every week... but I've now settled on this one ever since I took it... I like it because it's simple and unobtrusive, but always has a cheerful feel to it... (and it's one of my personal favourites!!!)
I uploaded this just for this thread. This is one of my favorite moments walking thru the Indiana Dunes last year. It just strikes me everytime I see it. Mother nature is astonishing. @simon0128
I update my desktop image quite a bit, depending on my latest favorite! Currently I have the storm image I took a few days ago because I just love it! First time I have managed to be in the right place at the right time to get a storm front shot!
This was taken for the 30 Day's in June challenge last year- Word was My Neighborhood!! I loved the details in it when i had it printed out , and It reminds me of Home when i am out on the road with Steve.
I took this for the Bauhaus challenge, and thought "that would be a cool desktop. And now I can't change without speaking to Gage first. He doesn't do change so well. :-)
Although now that I think of it, this pic was probably not a good ides, since that's a pizza box and may send subliminal messages... :-)
I currently use this one on my iPad (I change it every other week) and my laptop has a shuffle program that changes my backgrounds randomly from a selected folder of favourites.
I also shuffle a few different ones on my iPhone too.
I've had this desktop for so long that I don't recall what I had before it. My kitty went through a health scare a few years ago, and it made me realize even more, how precious she is to me and how important it was to at least ATTEMPT to get some decent photos of her. She's usually very camera shy.
This is mine. I've had it on my desktop ever since a trip to Namibia two years ago. Seeing the desert elephants was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
I have a folder named desktop backgrounds that I add to periodically. I have 95 pictures there now. I use the Windows feature where the desktop background pic will change every so many minutes depending on how often you set the time period. I have mine set to 15 minutes. Here is a collage of 82 of the pics.

Here is mine! Have had it for over a year, pretty much since the day it was taken. Good picture of a good friend and I :)
Before that I had this one up:
Mine's this one. I chose it because at the time I was fed up with bad weather and couldn't wait for Spring! This made me feel a lot happier :)
This one for me :)

Taking it involved crawling hundreds of meters through deep mud - with about 3 foot of headroom - dragging a boat.
Once there - the tripod was stood in water so deep that the cameras lens cap was dangling in the water...

Oh, and on the laptop - it's this one from my 365 collection
Just liked the way it came out - and it features my 'little' boy.
