So after two and a half years on the 365 Project, I finally made the Popular Page!! I am incredibly thrilled and honored to be amongst those photographs that really set the standard! I don't know how I got there but thank you to the powers that be! If you have made the Popular Page, post your photos here to pay tribute to the power of photography!!
Well, it was fun to go back through PP pix, and decided to share the one that had the most FAVs. This raccoon was in the woods behind us, and as I walked along the path, I looked straight up, and he was hanging over the branch, watching me. This is from August 2014.
In the last few years I've only had 6 photos on the PP, but what I found most interesting is that 5 of them are of my youngest son! And the sixth was a photo of a squirrel!
I had a few photos in the Popular page...11 last year and then a boom in January 2015 of 5 photos. This my first photo that made to PP and one of mt favourites.
And here's another shot which made PP and which I was also pleased to capture when I had first started using my Fuji X20 s/c in-camera program and this is on the red.
The rules about apparition on the PP are still a mystery for me, Ive shots with more comments/fav than others that never appear on it, but it is still a good surprise :).... congrats to you @Ibluejaye8
This was my first picture on the PP, day 84. I woke up to this dramatic light in my apartment, thought there would be a fire next door, but it was only a sunrise. Moment was gone within minutes, good thing I always keep my camera ready to shoot!
Since joining in January I am grateful that a few of my shots have made the popular page. But the response I received from this community for this photo touched my heart and continue to give me strength.
Congrats, Laurie, on making the PP! This shot is well deserved of making PP. I'm averaging less than one a month and never (really) have any idea what's going to take a pick to the PP. Here's my fave that's made it. I worked hard to get this shot and was exceptionally grateful for the positive attention it received here.
@voiceprintz Thank you, J.T.!! I love your photograph - the swirl of the smoke, the flame, the black background - how in the world did you capture this so perfectly?
@helenhelen Sometimes the best photos are ones of the simplest objects in life - things that would generally get ignored. That is why I love photography because it makes you see the ordinary in an extraordinary way!
I joined in January and I've had a few although I can't for the life of me figure out how it works. Anyway this is the first one that made it and I was so thrilled! It helps push you on!
Wow! There are so many outstanding photos on this thread! I have just completed my first year on 365, and have just recently had my first two photos on the popular page. The first was my photo of tulips taken on March 29.
@tracymeurs I did, and I am inspired by your courage and your strength. My mother left my dad when I was 14 1/2 and moved us all the way from New York to South Carolina because she knew that if she continued to try to build a life with him, life for us would not have turned out well. At the time, I was furious with her, but as I got older and married myself with children of my own, I realized the full depth of her courage and strength. I see you have sons, and through your post, I know you will be their rock. I hope you continue to find happiness and peace and most of all, love.
@lbluejaye8 thank you for the kind words. I have been touched by everyone in this community and am looking forward to a bright future filled with much happiness.

Believe it or not, this was just a rather large puddle from a very heavy downpour. The orange looking plant is actually just dead grass/weeds that look orange from the light reflecting from the deep red of the soil.. I just got super lucky with the light.
Laurie, my camera was on a tripod with the candle lit. I knew I wanted an off-centered square composition with smoke and the candle wasn't cooperating. Enter incense smoking just behind the candle and in front of the black velvet I use for many of my still-life low-key shots. I'm glad you like it. It's one of my all-time favorites!
Glad to find out you are a fellow NY'ker! :) It seems we're everywhere! ;)
Ha, congrats. I'm not social enough for the PP. I've had 2 on there I believe. One of which before it was marked as being there (and I don't remember which and when...) and this one, because of a theme/competition:
Not exactly sure how the PP is tallied, as I have had several that made the Trending Page that I think should have been popular, but it doesn't make it there. In any event, I have had quite a few make the PP so I guess I shouldn't complain :) This was one of my faves that I did of my daughter - outside my realm, but always wanted to try it:
@princessm - When you post a photo on the right side of your page under the thumbnails of this month photos and latest from all albums you will see a section titled, "Photo Details". It will show up in that box. First you might see, "Trending Page" and then "Popular Page". If your image really catches the attention of others 365'ers it could go right to the Popular Page. Click on one of these images and you will see the listing.
I've had three make it to PP this week. My favorite was pollen floating in a puddle.

One of my favourites from my ones that made PP
my last on the PP :
I've had 27 in almost 500 photos. But I cannot predict which ones will do better than others...

Just been looking through the photos and posts on here and want to say thank you for starting such an interesting thread - well done, indeed!
