Print services online

June 7th, 2015
We have a small local Agricultural show every year and there is a photography section in the Industrial s division of the show, which I like to enter.

I no longer have my own print facility and last year I took my files to a local photographer to have them printed. To say that I was hugely disappointed with the results would be an understatement. Contrary to expectation, there was no human involvement and a counter assistant simply plugged my USB stick into a machine and selected print sizes from a menu. There were several problems with my prints. I do not intend to return.

Because I live on a small island in a remote location I have no choice but to send my images off to an online lab.

Can anybody a good, reliable service that doesn't cost too much, please? I would prefer a company that send the prints back by Royal Mail as we are heavily surcharged for Courier services.

I'm not looking for anything fancy - most of the classes are restricted to simple 5 by 7 colour prints. One class allows up to A4 size and may be B&W

I have always had good results with Shutterfly.com I have used them for prints and for making photobooks and calendars. I have always been pleased.

Shutterfly.com or Mpix.com - both reasonable and do a nice job.

@henrir @milaniet @jackies365 @lsquared @taffy Thank you all for your responses and I cannot apologise sufficiently for not having had time to address them until now. I have been horribly busy with some really boring DIY.

MPix seems to be popular amongst you but I cannot find a UK site for them, so may I ask Shutterfly users how fast the service is, please? I have left matters late and need my prints before the end of this month.

Ah well, shutterfly.co.uk doesn't work either and forwards to a .com site. So no use to me either. I should have been more specific in my original question, though I thought using Royal Mail deliveries might have been specific enough :-)
