Thank you to everyone who participated in the mundane-rock challenge. There were a lot of amazing rock shots taken which made it difficult to narrow it down to only five finalists. After a busy weekend of editing vacation photos and shooting a wedding (I haven't even begun the daunting process of editing them yet), I have finally selected five photos that spoke to me. Voting will end on Wednesday, August 12th.

@dibzgreasley @dejongdd @aat3877 @salza I am starting to agree with my friend Ann ,who believes we should just boot the abstract challenge altogether.The point of the mundane challenge is to make the object beautiful,as long as it's the " star" of the show and is not ETSOOI.Abstract techniques could certainly be used.I say just boot the abstract challenge.Sorry to hijack the post!Lets continue this convo on another thread.

@kwiksilver I'm just curious, what makes you say that 5 is the only one close to rock? All of the entries have at least one "rock" [the topic was rock(s)] in them.

@kwiksilver #1 is a slice of a geode which is a sedimentary rock.
